Big Wins at TISCA!

December 5, 2017

The Boys Swim Team WON the 2017 North Zone TISCA Championship Meet in Lewisville, Texas in November 17, 2017 and the Girls Swim Team placed 5th out of 61 competing teams!!

The swimmers all did amazing, especially after qualifying so many for finals, and then everyone improved on Prelim times to have tons of incredible times during finals. The boys team was in 3rd place the whole meet, and behind by 76 points going into the last 400 free relay, but we realized the team in the lead didn’t have any relays in the event, and we had 2 boys relays in the top final heat; it would take winning to win the meet. Greg Raper, Bobby Johnson, Brandon Lemens, and Lance Butler crushed the competition, dropped 4 seconds to win the race, the B relay placed 8th, and they scored 78 points to win the meet by 2 points. All the swimmers scored points for the team !

New school records:

  • Greg Raper broke Andre Kuhn’s record from 2016 in the 200 free
  • Ella Collins broke her own record in the 50 free
  • The girls 400 free relay of Ella, Sarah Rogillio, Natalie Hoang, and Marie Taylor broke the record from last year
