- This is mandatory to watch and will be enforced at both pools. We suggest that the athlete(s) and a parent(s) watch this together. This will help have everyone on the same page and know what the expectations are during swim practice. This is a one-strike rule and will be enforced heavily. Your athlete will be warned once, and if a second offense occurs, then your athlete will be asked to not participate anymore with the team and a schedule change will occur for first period.
All swimmers will be required to bring their own gear – swim caps, goggles, kickboard, paddles, fins, pull buoy as well as their own water bottle. The gear will be taken home after each swim practice.
Transportation will be provided this year to transport athletes from the pool to Anderson after practice. Athletes will need to provide their own transportation to practice in the morning but an AISD school bus is available to ride to campus.
Attendance Policy:
Practice is MANDATORY. Swimmers who miss more than three practices in a two week period will be suspended from participation in the next meet. Attendance resets after each meet. Multiple meet suspensions will result in dismissal from the team. Arriving tardy to practice or leaving early from practice four times within a meet period will also result in meet suspension. Swimmers are only allowed to leave early from practice for academic reasons three times per six-weeks grading period.
Club swimmers who have achieved a Sectional time cut, and are participating in a morning/afternoon training program will have an individualized and set schedule that they must follow.
Winter Holiday Training is MANDATORY and it is imperative that swimmers continue training with the team during this break due to the proximity of the championship meets. If it is unavoidable, family trips during this time will be excused as long as the absence has been communicated in writing to the head coach at least three weeks in advance. Please keep in mind that taking a break from training during this time of the season can have a negative effect on a swimmer’s end of season performances.
After a swimmer participates in his/her last meet of the season, they will be excused from practice. We will begin an off-season dryland training program in March. Every swimmer enrolled in first period must participate in off-season training at this time.
If a swimmer must miss practice due to an unexpected illness, family emergency, or other circumstance, this must be communicated to the coach in writing as soon as possible. Failure to communicate an absence before practice will result in an unexcused absence. Frequent unexcused absences or tardies will result in dismissal from the team.
