The Anderson swimming and diving team traveled to Houston for the 5A-Regional Swimming and Diving Competition. Lyle Markham and Young Jae Hur led the Trojans as the number one diver and swimmer from District 15-5A. Tory Paranagua placed 11th in the 50 Free; Josh Tomazin placed 7th in the 100 Free and 8th in the 50 Free; Lyle placed 6th in Diving; and Young Jae placed 3rd in the 200 IM and 4th in the 100 Breast. The Girls 200 Yard freestyle team of Samantha Blount, Sarah Smith, Szilvia Haide, and Tory Paranagua placed 9th. The Girls 400 Yard Freestyle relay team of Samantha Blount, Kaitlyn Daniels, Sarah Smith and Szilvia Haide and the Boys 400 Yard Freestyle relay team of Young Jae Hur, Matthew Mahavier, Andre Kuhn, and Josh Tomazin both placed 11th.
Based on his regional results, Young Jae qualified for the State UIL 5A Swimming and Diving Competition in both the 200IM and the 100 Breast. Young Jae placed 10th in 200 IM and 12th in 100 Breast at State. He had some of the fastest times that Anderson swimmers have had in past years.
