Coach Juli Zamora’s Bio

Coach Juli Zamora grew up in Brownsville, Texas where she swam competitively on both a club and her high school team. She taught swimming lessons for eight summers while in Brownsville for the Red Cross Learn to Swim program, and began coaching a USA swim club after her freshman year of college. She moved to San Marcos in 2003 where she continued coaching club swimming and graduated from Texas State University with a BA in English with Teacher Certification and a minor in Kinesiology and Exercise Sport Science.

As a USA Swim Coach, she has trained Texas Age Group Medalists, National Top 16 swimmers and relays, South Texas Age Group Champions, Sectional Finalists, Junior National qualifiers, and has been a coach of South Texas Zones and All-Star Teams. She spent her first year teaching high school in Pflugerville, and as the assistant swim coach she was part of such successes as Hendrickson High School’s first Regional Medalists, and Pflugerville’s 5th place team finish at the Texas State Meet

Coach Zamora took the position as Head Coach of Anderson High School for the 2007 season, and has been named District Coach of the Year for the 5A Austin area district for seven seasons. Since 2007, the Anderson Swimming and Diving Team has had 12 athletes named to the All-American Team, and 29 swimmers and divers honored as part of the Texas 5A and 6A All-State Teams.

Coach Z enjoys coaching all levels of the sport of swimming, and has high expectations of her athletes, as students and as people. At Anderson, she teaches English I Pre-AP and English II , and is passionate about teaching. In the summer, she also coaches the Balcones Woods Blue Wave where she benefits from the opportunity to coach swimmers of all ages and continues to teach swimming lessons. She enjoys time outdoors, standup paddle-boarding (with Coach Condon!), cheering on the Spurs, and spending time with her dogs.
